I have always thought that many of our children suffer from some kind of residual brain ischemia/stroke/oxygen deprivation in utero, during labor or just after birth that can't be easily identified. Some stroke victims suffer left sided weakness, aphasia, echolalia fine motor skills loss and loss of executive functioning, ADHD, seizures, OCD. All symptoms that are seen in autism. I feel there is a link that needs to be studied further. My child has been in ABA therapy for about 6 mths and it has done wonders for her and my ins company has paid for most of it.
